About
Personal Profile
My name is Danmole Abdulrasheed Adeola, a citizen of Nigeria and a professional and vocational teacher. The most striking quality that others have noticed and repeatedly said about me is my passion for teaching and the total commitment to assigned tasks. It is because of these traits that I have always held many positions outside my regular teaching jobs in my place of work.
I am a graduate of the University of Ilorin, Kwara state (Nigeria) in Human kinetics and Health Education. I currently work as a Physical and Health Education teacher in Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) formerly known as Nigerian Turkish International Colleges. The school is one of the most prestigious schools in Nigeria, with branches in other states of the country.
I am 32 years old, an indigene of Lagos state, from the south western part of Nigeria. I am married. I have attended Trainings and Courses to develop my capability, these include;
• Cambridge TKT(Teachers knowledge test)
• Young learners: Managing the teaching and learning process, and teaching knowledge
• Concussion in sports from the University of Michigan etc
Before this application, I have also filled an application to start a Master’s in Physical and Health Education programme at the Lagos State University for the 2021 academic session.
I have led my school to many awards and laurels in competitions. My personal awards in the present school include “the 2018 outstanding staff of the year” and also “the best academic staff 2019”.
I Love the Profession
I studied Physical and Health Education because of my childhood love for teaching and sports. This has helped in impacting positively on my career and my students. I have through my teaching career been a strong character in the class, which has helped in shaping the character of the students, boosting their confidence and making them independent. It has always been part of my philosophy as a physical and health education, to encourage students to be physically fit in mind and body.
My Hobby and Philosophy
I love developing myself and learning new things in other to be able to give the best to my students. I enjoy participating and competing in games like football, athletics, basketball, table tennis, martial arts, travelling and dancing etc. I am an avid learner, and love improving myself through reading, watching and listening. I believe that the best way to learn is by paying good attention to details, with the awareness that my best as a teacher comes from how much and how well I know about the subjects that I intent teaching my students.
I teach my students the spirit of positive competition to push them to success, I let them understand that it is okay to fall and fail but a good athlete should always rise up and fight again to succeed. Being a skilful athlete myself, I have found it easier to inspire students to achieve results. Unlike most subjects, a physical instructor needs not only teach, but must also lead in demonstrating what he teaches.
It gives me so much joy to see the students being motivated by what I do, or even competing to do better than me. This should be the dream of every good teacher. My number one goal has always been bringing the best out of students, turning them to elite athletes that will bring medals and honours that will make the school, state and country proud of their achivements.
I Aspire to Achieve Results
Before my present place of work, I had worked in other schools as part time Physical and Health Education instructor. The schools include; Bambo House of Knowledge, Lagos; Blazers Primary and Secondary School, Lagos; Valiant Minds Montessori Schools, Lagos etc.
My daily schedule includes teaching various levels of classes, conducting fitness exercises and running administrative duties. As the national Head of Department of the Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) schools, I hold monthly departmental meeting with other Physical and Health Education teachers to discuss work issues and proffer solutions accordingly.
One of the problem I have faced as a physical and health education teacher is female participation in sports. Most female students usually have less interest in sports or physical activities. I was able to tackle this problem by getting to know what makes them happy and merging it with outlined programmes. Since, most of them love dancing and singing, I was able to integrate dance into the class. Dancing is considered as a physical activity and a way of keeping the body fits and healthy, so engaging them in dance moves in order to boost the student’s interest worked for the objective.
Another problem I faced is assessment or evaluating their progress in learning. In Nigeria Educational system, assessment is majorly written and not practical based. Especially for a subject like physical education which should be practical based. Being the head of my department, I have had several meeting with my colleagues concerning this i
